What is "Owner Built"? |
|
Owner Built or “Construction Management” is a concept that has been very successful in the Commercial building industry for years. Simply put, it is a program that allows the owner to work closely with the design, bidding, actual construction, and bill payment for the new custom home.
A “Project Manager” is hired to guide and assist the owner through all phases of the project. The Project Manager also performs duties such as site layout, subcontractor scheduling, periodic jobsite inspection, preparing and submitting draw payments, and unlimited consulting with the owners.
The savings realized by replacing the general contractor with the Owner Built System and Project Manager can be used either to lower the total cost of the project or to upgrade products and features that would not have been possible before. |
