The overall Village of Cambria budget decreased by nearly $6,000, however, the village levy did increase by $803. Therefore, the village tax mill rate will be $9.09 per $1,000 of assessed value. This is an increase of $ .10 per $1,000 of assessed value. The mill rate increase is because the overall village assessed value decreased, which causes the tax mill rate to increase.

Message from your Director of Public Works. Tom Tietz 348-5415 How old is your water softener? Newer, “on-demand” systems can offer significant water and cost savings. These softeners are programmed to cycle only when a certain amount of water is used. Call your water softener company today to see how your softener can be more efficient and less expensive to run. By law, the Village of Cambria is required to monitor levels of a variety of substances at our wastewater treatment plant. The DNR sets certain standards for these substances with each discharge permit. One of these substances is chloride or salt, which enters wastewater streams thru water softener discharges and road salt that enters thru the manholes. We are currently meeting our chloride limits, however I would ask when you are ready to replace or purchase a new water softener please be sure it is an on-demand softener. This will help us to continue to meet our permit limits and keep costs down for everyone.
