Columbia County invites you to explore its many acres of public recreation land and parks. All areas are open to wildlife observation, hiking, cross-country skiing, nature study, and photography.

US Fish and Wildlife Waterfowl Production Areas (WPA) and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) public lands are open to hunting, trapping, and fishing and are subject to all applicable Federal and State laws. Exceptions to this rule are the MacKenzie Environmental Center and State Game Farm and lands that are posted with "Closed to Public Hunting" signs. The area WDNR Service Center is located at the MacKenzie Center, W7303 County Highway CS near Poynette.
