Proximity to Madison. This area is the second-largest market in the state. Madison is the state capital and home of the University of Wisconsin, one of the country's most respected universities. There are many financial, health care and insurance services available in the city.
Transportation routes. Cross Plains is located on U.S. highway 14. It's about eight miles west of U.S. Highway 18/151 and the Beltline around Madison. Proximity to I-90 and I-94 offers easy access to major metropolitan cities. Milwaukee is about 90 miles to the east, Chicago lies 150 miles to the Southeast and Minneapolis-St. Paul is 250 miles to the northwest.
