You are in the heart of the

Amish Community!

Have you ever wondered what the ride looked like

from the inside of an Amish buggy?....

Dalton is a hamlet located in the southwestern corner of Green Lake County.  State Highway 44 winds through Dalton, which supports auto, truck and horse-drawn buggy traffic, alike.  Another main thoroughfare thru Dalton is the Union Pacific Railroad with many freight trains each day.  Several businesses are located in and around Dalton.  Dalton features a volunteer fire department that protects the area.  Dalton itself is located in the center of an Amish community.  The Amish community operates businesses in the farming areas surrounding Dalton.

Dalton has a large and active conservation club, which operates a community park complete with softball fields, trap shooting, playground equipment and barbeque & picnic facilities.  You will find much activity at the club during the summer months.

Just to the north is the 7,000 acre Grand River Wildlife Area.  Managed as a waterfowl restoration area, about 3,500 acres are flooded, creating an ideal habitat for waterfowl.  Ideal for naturalists and sportsmen alike, wildlife abounds…mallards, teal, widgeon, gadwell, geese…and whitetail deer!
