The Deke Slayton Memorial Space & Bike Museum maintains an impressive collection of artifacts, documents and photographs. Collecting artifacts is one of the primary functions of any museum and we are proud to maintain the Deke Slayton Collection, a superb collection of more than 50 antique and collectible bikes, and a large selection of local aviation artifacts.

Maintaining a collection is a never-ending project. Museum staff and volunteers record the history, function and location of each artifact, document and photograph that enters the Museum’s doors They are also charged with the conservation of these items so that future generations will be able to learn from them as well.
