Volunteering & Donations

Funds raised for the Museum through memberships in Friends of the Deke Slayton Memorial Space & Bike Museum are unrestricted funds – the Museum is free to use the funds for any part of its operation (See Membership Opportunities for more information.)

Some of the Museum’s funders prefer to designate which part of the Museum’s operations they would like their monetary contribution to be used for. These restricted donations can be designated into one or more of the following areas:

•  Exhibitions
•  Educational Programs
•  Collections (artifact acquisition and care)
•  Children’s Room
•  Publications
•  Endowment Fund
•  Memorial Gifts*

*Memorial Gifts are given in memory of a person or persons toward one of the restricted donation options listed above. If no direction is given at the time that the Memorial Gift is received, the Museum reserves the right to designate it to an appropriate area.
