Columbia/Marquette Pheasants Forever Meeting
August 4, 2010

Attendance: Bill Schaller, President; Wm Damm, Treasurer; Greg Offer, Jim Taff, Bill Dabbs, Troy Cooley, Corey Callahan, Glen Andler, Mark Martin, and Larry Dykstra.
Special guests prior to the meeting: Brian Landers candidate for Columbia County Sheriff and committee chair.

1. Treasures Report: With the purchase of raffle guns and other financial commitments, we will be operating in the red until after the banquet. We are hoping for sponsors to come forward and members to move our budget up to 2008 levels. Our present balance is $2,115.86. This is committed for expenses and projects.

2. Habitat Report: CRP sign up is 8/2/10 to 8/27/10. Informational meetings are 8/5 and 8/12. Call Eric Krueger in the Portage USDA office.

3. Columbia County Fair Booth: Reports of two memberships, 24 names for banquet invitations, and a number of raffle ticket sales. All in all a favorable report.

4. Raffle Ticket Sales: At the conclusion of the fair, 49 tickets had been sold. Several volunteers at the meeting offered to sell additional tickets. Bill has the record.

5. Bill Dabbs made motion to participate in PF membership drive called “Membership Express”. Troy Cooley seconded motion and all agreed.

6. Banquet Items: Many Sponsors are signing up for continued support but some may not be able to participate. As a result we will need to find more interested people. Contact Bill! Invitations will be sent shortly after Labor Day. Reminder: the banquet is October 7 at the Best Western in Portage. We need your help at our only fund raising event, see you there!

7. PF Regional meeting to be held 8/25/10 at Middleton 6:30 pm kick off.

8. Bill Dabbs motion after discussion to buy auction and raffle items local versus through PF. Second by Mark Martin. Motion passed unanimously.

9. Volunteer prairie flower seed collection at the Goose Pond Saturday mornings after Labor Day.

10. The PF Banquet OCT 7 (doors open 5pm). This is your chance to support your local chapter. The monies we make are used for projects in our area and are controlled by your chapter committee. You can not only be a part of the fund raising event you can sit in on the board and be a part of the discussion, the events and have a vote on where your money is spent. Be more than a member ~ be a voting member! Ask for details. We love habitat and welcome all who do!
