The Amish Community in Columbia County are "House Amish" meaning they hold their Sunday worship service in member homes on a rotating basis. If you visit the Amish Community on Sunday and see a large gathering of buggies and the white wagon shown above at an Amish home...it is that family's turn to host the worship service. The white wagon holds the benches, books and the men's black hats. If you see this many wagons at a home on a Thursday...most probably there is an Amish wedding occurring. |
