Tourism Wisconsin .com has added the LAKE WISCONSIN CIRCLE TOUR for your enjoyment! This route is in Columbia County. This tour is designed for use from April 15th thru November 30th to coincide with the seasonal operation of the Colsac III Free Ferry which crosses Lake Wisconsin. In season the Ferry operates 24 hours a day, 7 days each week.

The Lake Wisconsin Circle Tour is a full-day trip. Most of the roads you will travel are curvy and hilly county trunk and township roads. Your driving speed will vary greatly with the terrain. We recommend a leisurely 45 mph or less on these country roads.

Among the route highlights are: the Wisconsin River, Lake Wisconsin, river dells, the Colsac III Free Ferry, Gibraltor Rock, wildlife, birds, parks, history, hills and valleys...and wonderful shops and places to eat. The Circle Tour is quite scenic any time of the year, especially during the Fall colors.
