Current Village Information

Nestled in the northeastern hills of Columbia County, Cambria was founded in 1844 when the Langdon family erected a saw mill on Duck Creek. It's rolling hills, lakes and creek are reminiscent of Wales, hence the name "Cambria".  Mr. Benkhe, pioneer aviator, Gena Rowlands, actress, Mr. David Huston, Eastman Kodak Camera, and David Jones, architect, are all famous Cambrians.

Rich farmland surrounds the village and it's founding and growth have been intertwined with the farming industry. The Jane Morgan Memorial Library offers many resources for genealogical research. The Cambria-Friesland School District has excellent academic and athletic programs.
